Learner profile attribute: CARING

On 25th March 2019 our school community decided to engage in helping a young girl who suffers from spastic paralysis. The main goal was to support her rehabilitation. Our students decided to bake and sell cakes in order to gather the means for the girl’s dolphin therapy. Due to the fact that we have already supported the girl through different actions in the previous school years, the students had the opportunity to show empathy and compassion to a person who is close to us and needs our help. Such close relation with the girl and her parents allow the students to see what positive changes in the girl’s life happen thanks to their involvement.

Attribute of the month: RISK-TAKER

On the 4 th of October 2019 we invited to our school a journalist of the local radio station Mr Żmicier Kościn. Our guest talked about the positive side of taking risks and referred to his own experienced or a person who long time ago risked everything, moved to a different country and found his home there. The guest stressed the need to follow one’s inner voice and be stay true to your ideas and find your own way in life.

Attribute of the month: BALANCED

On the 26 th September 2019 our guest was Mr Marek Kaczmarzyk Ph.D, a scientist who researches human brain and the influence it has on our emotions and relations. The guest talked about the way our brain works and how it affects the way young people shape their relations with grown-ups. He also referred to the need of being balanced and how to achieve it through the positive relationships with people that surround us.

Learner profile attribute: COMMUNICATORS

On the 16 th May 2019 the whole school community had a chance to master their communication abilities thanks to the participation in a workshop with an acclaimed Polish linguist, Mr. Jerzy Bralczyk. The professor, who is known to be an authority in language matters, talked about certain techniques and little tricks, such as intonation or pauses between words, that can help students become more articulate and daring in public speaking. The meeting was a great opportunity to practice student’s communication skills.
